This year’s NLB Royal Cup, which ended on Sunday with the victory of Croatian tennis player Tena Lukas, marked a humanitarian match between representatives of NLB Banka and Lovćen Insurance, that aimed to raise donations for the procurement of incubator for the Department of Newborns, Clinical Hospital Center of Montenegro.
The match was held on Friday, September 20 at 7pm, between NLB Banka Executive Officer Marko Popovič and Lovćen Insurance CEO Matjaž Božič, followed by a donor cocktail and auction of tennis items used during the match.
The invitation to donate to this noble cause was met by a large number of employees of both companies, as well as clients and business partners.
The humanity of all those present under the campaign with the slogan “Together for the Great Victories” and those who for that cause, paid donations to the NLB Bank’s open account for that purpose raised more than 10,000 Euro.
The action will continue until 30.09.2019. and everyone who is still interested can deposit money into the bank account of NLB Bank: 530-1-10 with PBO 292555 for Royal Cup donations.
We are very grateful to all business partners and employees, as well as to the clients of NLB Banka and Lovćen Insurance, who responded to this action.
The missing funds for the purchase of an incubator worth EUR 16,000 will be provided by Lovćen Insurance and NLB Banka.
At the cocktail party after the charity match, the Director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro addressed the audience with the words “On this occasion I want to thank the successful companies NLB Banka and Lovćen Insurance for recognizing the importance of donating to the Clinical Center of Montenegro, especially to our youngest patients whom this incubator gives a chance for safe and a prosperous future.”
NLB Banka has been the general sponsor of the professional ITF women’s tournament for many years. This sporting event attracts more attention from year to year, especially due to the fact that a large number of tennis players that took part in this tournament occupied one of the top 100 positions on the WTA list, as well as the best Montenegrin tennis player Danka Kovinić, who won her first professional points in this tournament.
This year, Tena Lukas triumphed. She has been fighting for the fifth consecutive year to win the Royal Cup trophy, and this year she succeeded, beating Russian tennis player Melnikova 2-0 (6: 4, 7: 5).
