For the first time, the Western Balkans ESG Summit took place, a significant regional event dedicated to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics. This summit represents an important step towards sustainable development in the region, with the aim of becoming the leading annual event for sustainability. By bringing together regional and global leaders from the political, business, and professional worlds, the summit aims to enhance business and society through long-term initiatives.

One of the speakers was Tamas Kamarasi, who presented the Montenegrin Foreign Investors Council and its key role in the development of the Montenegrin economy. He emphasized the importance of reducing harmful gas emissions in accordance with the adopted decision of the Government of Montenegro to reduce emissions by 35% by 2030. He also highlighted the significance of public-private and private-private partnerships, particularly in the area of sustainable “green value chains.” This initiative focuses on assessing the feasibility of sustainable and environmentally friendly supply chains and business processes.

The President of MFIC announced the vision for the future development of the organization in the context of adopting ESG standards. The Western Balkans ESG Summit provided an exceptional opportunity for knowledge exchange, ideas, and experiences on sustainability among leaders from different sectors. It created space for the implementation of long-term initiatives and fostered collaboration among various participants in achieving sustainable development and positive change.
