An efficient and digitalized public administration aligned with European standards is the foundation of economic development and accelerated progress, as emphasized at the third MFIC Talks event organized by the Montenegrin Foreign Investors Council. The event featured Marash Dukaj, Minister of Public Administration, as a guest speaker, with Branko Mitrović, CEO of One Montenegro and a member of the Council’s Board of Directors, moderating the discussion.
MFIC Talks brought together representatives of the Council’s member companies at the “Risto Stijović” Gallery, where they had the opportunity to gain insight into the modernization process of public administration. Moderator Branko Mitrović highlighted the importance of the MFIC Talks platform in connecting the private and public sectors to foster a more favorable business and investment environment.
“We strive to enhance and harmonize our public administration with European standards. We must have a transparent, efficient, and accountable administration that is ready to meet the needs of citizens and the economy by providing high-quality services and support,” Minister Dukaj said in his opening remarks.
Digitalization plays a crucial role in transforming public administration. Representatives from the Council’s member companies emphasized that digitalization could eliminate some recognized business barriers, thereby improving Montenegro’s investment reputation. Minister Dukaj stated that cooperation with the real sector is essential in implementing digitalization, particularly in terms of expert support and adopting best practices. He also expressed expectations that the draft Law on Information Security and the establishment of the Cyber Security Agency would contribute to the successful digitalization of public administration services.
The event also addressed the Law on Local Self-Government, which aims to empower local administrations with greater authority. Participants in MFIC Talks agreed that this would create conditions for more intensive and balanced economic development. The minister noted that the announced legislative changes are especially significant for creating opportunities for local economies to access EU funds and open the door to substantial investments.
The MFIC Talks event is organized by the Montenegrin Foreign Investors Council, which represents 41 companies that together generate a significant portion of Montenegro’s GDP. The MFIC Talks concept is supported by the Council’s patron members: Montenegrin Commercial Bank (CKB), One Montenegro, Jugopetrol, Adriatic Marinas – Porto Montenegro, Luštica Bay, and Ekonomik Accountants.
