The Montenegrin Foreign Investors Council (MFIC) held its regular Annual Assembly at Lu\u0161tica, during which the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Tam\u00e1s Kamar\u00e1si<\/strong> (CKB), was entrusted with a new two-year mandate. In addition, Council members voted to renew the mandate of the current Board of Directors, which includes Branko Mitrovi\u0107<\/strong> (One Montenegro), David Margason<\/strong> (Porto Montenegro), Remon Zakaria<\/strong> (EBRD), and Vasilis Panagopoulos<\/strong> (Jugopetrol AD).<\/p>\n

In his address, Tam\u00e1s Kamar\u00e1si<\/strong> reflected on the role of the Council and stated:<\/p>\n

“The MFIC is a constructive and proactive business association that brings together the most prominent foreign investors in Montenegro. Our member companies have been present here for many years, not only as drivers of economic growth but also as responsible partners of society. Through the work of our committees and participation in nearly all key economic initiatives and events, we continue to demonstrate our role as a reliable ally\u2014one that not only recognizes challenges but also offers concrete solutions for inclusive and sustainable development.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking about the investment environment in Montenegro, he added:<\/p>\n

“Montenegro must decide whether it truly wants to open its economy to multinational companies and productive foreign investments. If the answer is yes, that commitment must be reflected in concrete and consistent public policies. In this context, the acceleration of the EU integration process is particularly encouraging, as are steps such as joining the SEPA system\u2014an achievement to which the Central Bank of Montenegro has made an invaluable contribution. I want to emphasize that foreign investors do not seek preferential treatment. What we expect is stability, legal certainty, and efficient institutions, along with a legal framework that ensures timely and fair dispute resolution, and consistent respect for contractual obligations. These are the foundations of a credible, stable, and long-term sustainable investment environment that Montenegro deserves.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Assembly also included a presentation of completed and planned activities, including the work of all five MFIC committees. It was also an opportunity to present the Council’s report titled “Trends in Foreign Direct Investment in Montenegro from 2018 to 2024”. In addition to representatives of member companies, the presentation was attended by the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue Naida Ni\u0161i\u0107<\/strong>, the U.S. Ambassador to Montenegro, Judy Rising Reinke<\/strong>, and the President of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Nina Draki\u0107<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The MFIC has been active in Montenegro for 16 years and is the only business association that brings together exclusively foreign companies.
