History and Mission
The Montenegrin Foreign Investors’ Council (MFIC), an association of the leading foreign investors in the country, was established in 2009 by prominent companies such as Crnogorski Telekom A.D., NLB Montenegro Banka A.D., Montenegro Stars Hotel Group d.o.o., KAP A.D., and Daido Metal A.D. The MFIC operates as a non-governmental and non-profit organization with a primary focus on improving the investment climate and supporting business development in Montenegro.
OUR OBJECTIVES
The Council is committed to achieving the following objectives:
- improve investment climate and support business development in Montenegro;
- represent, express the opinion of its members for the purpose of promoting common interests and stimulate direct foreign investments;
- promote communication, cooperation and current dialogue between the Council and official authorities in Montenegro, universities and other business associations;
- cooperate with official authorities in Montenegro for the purpose of overcoming possible problems and obstacles foreign investors may face, as well as in economic relations with other countries;
- promote interests of international business community in Montenegro;
- inform its members and other stakeholders on possibilities regarding investment climate in Montenegro;
- connect with the other foreign organizations of investors within SEE region for the purpose of: sharing benefits and experiences of the best world’s practice and analyzing concrete tools in order to facilitate regional business activities;
- promote modern management standards related to the environment, social and corporate governance in companies (ESG).
KEY DOCUMENT: THE WHITE BOOK
The Council’s key document, the White Book, is an annual publication aimed at informing the public and stakeholders about the business environment and obstacles faced by foreign investors. It provides recommendations to enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Montenegrin economy.
COMMITTEES
The Council comprises representatives from diverse industries, including banking, telecommunications, mining, tourism, transportation, and auditing. Four committees have been established to address specific areas:
- Talent and Human Capital Committee
- Green Economy Transition (ESG) Committee
- Rule of Law and Taxation Committee
- IT, Economic, and Infrastructural Development Committee
