Antonis Selemides

Antonis Semelides was born in Cyprus. He graduated from University of Florida as a mechanical engineer. He obtained Masters of Science from University of Florida. From 1988 until 1990 he worked as Consulting Engineer with ICM Consultants, Florida, USA. From 1990 until 1991 he was a Chief Engineer at Sanotel Hotel Chain in Cyprus. In the period 1991-1996 he was Retail Stations and Terminal Engineer, BP Cyprus while from 2001 until 2003 he was a Supply and Logistics Manager. Mr. Semelides was a Supply and Operations Manager at Hellenic Petroleum in Cyprus from 2003 until 2014 while from 2014 until 2016 he was Operations Director. In 2016 he was also Retail Network Development Director in EKO, Bulgaria. Since 2016 he has covering a position of CEO of Jugopetrol AD.

He has 25 years of experience in the Oil business first with BP Plc and then with Hellenic Petroleum SA. Specifically, he has worked in the areas, of Oil products supply, sea transport, oil and LPG terminal storage and logistics operations, road transport, airport refueling depots, bunkering operations, petrol stations construction and operations. He has extensive knowledge of the health, safety and environmental aspects of the oil industry. Mr. Semelides has served for nine years in the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Strategic Stocks Agency, and had a significant contribution in setting-up the Agency.

He is a member of the Energy Institute. He speaks English. Greek is his native language.
