Representatives of the MFIC met with the President of Montenegro, Mr. Jakov Milatović, and his associates. Representing our organization, the following attended the meeting: Tamas Kamarasi, President of the FICCG and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CKB Bank; David Margason, CEO of Adriatic Marinas – Porto Montenegro; Remon Zakaria, Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Office in Montenegro; Vasilis Panagopoulos, CEO of Jugopetrol AD; Branko Mitrović, CEO of One Montenegro; and Arijana Nikolić Vučinić, Executive Director of the MFIC.

The Council representatives briefed the President and his associates on the Foreign Investors Council Strategy in Montenegro for the period from 2024 to 2026. The strategy was developed with the support of the prestigious Boston Consulting Group (BCG), one of the world’s leading strategic consulting firms.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that this year marks 15 years of existence during which our members, in addition to significant business results, have made a crucial contribution to the development of the business environment by promoting the highest standards of corporate governance and principles of sustainability and social responsibility.

The presented strategy will serve as the basis for further progress and diversification of the Montenegrin economy through the attraction of credible foreign investors. Special emphasis should be placed on green transition, strengthening and valorization of human capital potential, as well as intensified cooperation between decision-makers and the business community.

The President of Montenegro welcomed the engagement of the Foreign Investors Council to contribute to the creation of a better investment and business environment through concrete proposals to the executive authority. He reminded that in the previous period, conditions were created internally through the formation of the Government, the election of the governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro with broad parliamentary support, and key appointments in the judiciary.
